The feature that is currently being introduced
Gradually to users of the platform adds a new option at the bottom of the device linking display. “Link with a phone number” is the Oman WhatsApp Number List title of the newly available option. This feature will permit users to input the country code followed by their cell phone number to retrieve the account's messages from a computer.
Although this could be seen as a potentially harmful option since anyone might use any number to link to a computer, WhatsApp has implemented an extra security measure that includes sending an authentication code to the user’s identity. This ensures that only the genuine holder of the account can access the messages.
This eight-digit code
Which will be generated only once, will appear on the computer screen and must be entered into a designated field within the mobile application. If the code is correct, the user will be promptly directed to the main screen of WhatsApp Web, and the messages will be synchronized automatically, just like in the current version of the feature.
The alternative linking method of two
Devices will enable users whose cell phones lack a properly functioning front camera or have issues to access the WhatsApp Web platform. Currently, it is not Oman WhatsApp Number Database possible to link other alternative devices (such as a tablet) because the Companion Mode feature has not yet been implemented for this new synchronization method.
At present, the phone number linking feature is not accessible to all users. Since it is an early access test mode feature, only those users who have the beta version of the application can utilize it. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that this feature will progressively grant access to additional users and its global rollout will occur within the next few months.
Editing messages on WhatsApp
One of the functionalities that was globally introduced for all mobile devices is the editing of messages so that the text content does not need to be deleted for rewriting.
“We’re excited to provide more control over chats, from fixing simple spelling errors to including further context to a message,” WhatsApp stated on its official site.
Users will need to press and hold the message before selecting the Edit option from the menu. After the editing process is finished, the texts will be marked “Edited” at the bottom, informing each person that a correction has been applied, but they will not have access to a history of changes.
Users will not be able to view
The time when the modification took place, and this feature has been activated only for messages that contain text and emojis. Descriptions of sent files, as well as photos and videos, cannot be altered.
Similar to the original texts, photos, videos, voice notes, and files, the revised versions of messages will also be safeguarded by end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only the sender and receiver of the text can view them.
